Why I Want To Share

I’ve been into fitness for most of my life. Not heavy and full-blown knowledgable with all the fancy words and fads, but I know enough. Recently, I started sharing snippets of what I eat, what I read and what exercises I do on my IG Story. To receive such positive feedback without seeking it has been my biggest motivation for this post and the two I shared previously.

Some of you already know that I workout every day at 4-4:30AM at home– in the kitchen; which is ironic considering that is where my biggest enemy is.. food!

But, I do!

It’s not easy, let me tell you. But, my fellow moms & dads know that it’s really the only time the kids are asleep and not bothering you! It’s quiet and I find peace during this time. Like the saying goes.. “I love early mornings when it feels like the rest of the world is asleep….. it’s only you”… and God.

You’re probably wondering what time we go to bed… Well, Simon and I try to be in bed no later than 8 and while he falls asleep, I tend to spend my time over thinking and remembering everything that God is already handling.

What possesses me to get up this early? Working out is my outlet. It makes me feel good, I look good, and I release stress first thing in the morning.

My alarm goes off at 3:45. I get up. Make sure Simon isn’t wet. Change. Clean whatever mess I didn’t get to the night before. Pack our stuff for the day (which I prep the night before), take my pre-workout and get started.

This all started as a thing for ME. Then I started sharing the same video.. my feet on the treadmill with the time stamp. Then I shared my devotionals and declarations for the day and sometimes what I was eating for breakfast. THEN, I began to receive messages from fellow moms, friends, and even guys encouraging me, asking advice and telling me how I inspired them to do the same. YOU GUYS!!! Working out in the mornings brings me so much joy & peace through the rest of the day. I’m like a Crossfitter or Vegan– I tell EVERYONE. I think the biggest thing about it is that it’s so easy to not go do it at the end of the day than it is the beginning. To each their own, but this is my plan…..

No, I don’t want a million followers. No, I don’t want a million views. No, I don’t want attention. No, I don’t want to turn it into a “career” or “extra income”. I don’t want sponsorships. Ain’t nobody got the time for that!

All I want is to give people realistic ideas for our day-to-day lives. We are PARENTS. We don’t have a ton of time or a ton of money. I want to show others that you don’t need a fancy gym membership. You don’t need to be intimidated. You can do this and teach your kids as well! And mostly that, although those IG Fitness models give great advice and look super hot.. it’s not realistic for the working moms & dads. At least not at the beginning. It ain’t that pretty and I have to refer to Pinterest for half of the stuff they say.

I will tell anyone how I struggled with confidence issues because those girls NOW are popular. But, where did they start? Most of them were likely hot even at the beginning. And that’s scary for some of us. Same goes for dudes.

So, here’s what I want to do…. I am going to start writing down my workouts and video what I can (it’s not easy and it takes a ton of time #Distraction) and sharing it HERE.. on my BLOG.

NOT ON IG! I will only make a post that it is up. It isn’t a “program”.. it is simply a REALISTIC way to learn new exercises, get new ideas, challenge yourself and  progress. We can grow together. Whether you get up at 4am or do it at the end of the day.. it doesn’t even matter! All that matters is that me sharing is helping someone out there to get up, get moving and getting fit.

As Elle Woods once said

“Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don’t shoot their husbands, they just don’t.”
